Sunflowers

Vincent sees and paints sunflowers during his stay in Paris and just before he leaves, he finds something special in his depiction of several cut flowers on a table. Gauguin sees they are special and trades some of his own works for two of Vincent’s more powerful renditions. In preparation of Gauguin’s arrival in Arles, Vincent paints over a dozen sunflower canvases in a very prolific burst and perhaps has earned a place in history for his unique expression of their beauty and essence.
