Description:

Very horizontal, planar painting with several defined levels leading to horizon and sky.  yellow lavender contrast of complimentaries.  if a man is substituted for the wheat, you have the sower.  Same road to Tarascon

Related drawing with clouded sky but no small dots was done a month later and sent to Emile Bernard in a letter around july 17, 1888.  Drawing with dotted sky drawn in early august 1888 (after the bernard letter and a month and a half after the painting) and sent to john russell in a letter to Belle Ile Brittany.
