A front view of the restaurant Le Moulin de la Galette in reds and yellows with two figures walking and a lamppost at left center. Vincent painted this view several times, probably to produce “salable” art by depicting a place people recognized. This is the restaurant/cabaret which inspired many of the impressionists due to its large and elegant dance floor under the stars and lights. The corner is recognizable today though the windmill faces in a different direction. Painting, Oil on Canvas Paris: Autumn, 1886 Stiftung Langmatt Baden, Switzerland, Europe F: 226, JH: 1172
